# Elegant Atomics > Growth engineering for B2B SaaS, from product-market fit to scaled acquisition. Elegant Atomics designs, builds, and operates the systems between a company's product and its pipeline. Early-stage companies get growth as a service: the firm runs the function because there isn't one yet. Established companies get strategy and system building: the firm builds the machine their own team then operates. The work spans positioning, search, outbound, and measurement. One team plans it and the same team executes it. ## What Elegant Atomics is Elegant Atomics is a growth-as-a-service firm, not a campaign agency and not a staffing shop. Trevor Fox founded it in 2023. The firm is remote and operates from the US Pacific time zone. Clients are based in the United States, Australia, and Europe. Elegant Atomics is three people plus a network of channel specialists, and it works with a small number of clients at a time. That shape matters, because "fractional growth" usually means one person splitting attention across accounts. Strategy and execution come from the same team, so no work is handed from the people who planned it to the people who do it. Engagements are sequenced by whatever is currently blocking growth rather than by a fixed playbook. The plan is built with the client, not presented to them. ## Who it is for Elegant Atomics works with B2B SaaS companies from product-market fit through scaled acquisition. What an engagement looks like depends on which phase the company is in. **Standing it up.** The product works and the market presence does not exist yet. Sometimes the company has a landing page and a booking link where it needs positioning, product marketing, and a site a buyer takes seriously. Sometimes the category itself has no name, no budget line, and no comparison set, which is market development rather than marketing. The buyer here is usually a technical founder or a first marketing hire. **Making pipeline repeatable.** There is a market presence and some inbound, but nothing that reliably produces pipeline. The work is building the system: the channels, the instrumentation underneath them, and the operating cadence that turns activity into demand a team can forecast. Buyers here are founders, early go-to-market and revenue operations people, and operators with a number to hit who have been sold activity before. Revenue operations buyers tend to be the best partners, because they already know where the plumbing is broken. **Scaling and accelerating.** Pipeline exists and needs to compound. The work is experimentation at a real cadence, expansion into new segments or channels, and measurement good enough to decide what to fund next. The buyer here is usually a head of marketing or growth who has the strategy and needs a system, plus the hands to run it. Common triggers across all three: a company just raised, is moving upmarket, has a website that no longer matches what the company has become, has rising customer acquisition cost, or has nobody who owns growth. The firm is flexible on terms with bootstrapped businesses, early-stage startups, and good causes. ## Capabilities ### Positioning and product marketing What a company sells is usually clear inside the building and unclear to everyone else. That shows up in several forms: positioning that drifted from what the product actually became, a market presence that amounts to a landing page and a booking link, or a category with no name to sell into at all. The work starts with customer discovery, meaning interviews with recent wins, losses, and churns, so that positioning rests on evidence rather than opinion. From there it becomes the product marketing that makes the positioning real: messaging, the site, the proof, and the pages a buyer needs in order to evaluate you. The range runs from standing this up for the first time through repositioning for a new segment or a move upmarket. Category creation is the hardest version of this work. Trevor Fox spent two years at Census doing market development for reverse ETL, from Series A to Series B, at the company that built the first reverse ETL tool. Census was employment, not a client engagement. Elegant Atomics has since done the same job from the outside for Definite, an all-in-one data platform, taking inbound demand from roughly one demo per quarter to a consistent multi-million-dollar pipeline. That engagement began in 2023 and is still running. ### AI search visibility Buyers now put questions to AI assistants that they used to type into a search engine. Being the cited answer in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews depends on what those systems actually retrieve, which is not the same thing as what published vendor guidance describes. Evidence: Elegant Atomics reconstructed an entity ontology from ChatGPT's frontend payloads that OpenAI has never documented, and published it as a free tool at chatgptsearchinsights.com. The firm also found a 41-bit timestamp encoded inside LinkedIn post IDs and shipped a public decoder for it. Both tools are free, and anyone can check the work. This capability is evidenced by published research rather than by a named client outcome. There is no client result to point to yet. Treat it as demonstrated method, not as a proven service result. ### GTM engineering The connective tissue between go-to-market strategy and the systems that execute it: ICP definition, list building, intent signal routing, sequence infrastructure, CRM, and the automation nobody owns. Evidence: the campaign infrastructure behind Definite's outbound, and n8n automations that route work into Slack and ClickUp. These systems are written as code rather than assembled in a no-code builder, so the logic can be as sophisticated as the problem requires. The trade-off is worth stating plainly: code is harder for a client's own team to inspect than a visual builder is, which leaves the client dependent on Elegant Atomics to read and change it. That is a real cost, not a hidden one. ### Measurement and attribution Most agencies stop at the dashboard. Elegant Atomics builds the chain that feeds it: event tracking, source integration, data modeling, reporting, and attribution, owned end to end. Evidence: production work in Redshift, BigQuery, and Snowflake with dbt and Dataform. The firm will argue against its own upsell here. Automation does not create value on its own, and every optimization has diminishing returns. Knowing which measurement is not worth building is part of the service. ### Technical SEO at scale SEO as an engineering discipline, on properties where one taxonomy or information architecture decision moves millions of URLs. Evidence: Trevor Fox did web strategy and information architecture for Meta, Instagram, OpenAI, Pinterest, Twitch, and Snap. That was contract work through Instrument, a digital agency, over six and a half years. Those companies were Instrument's clients. None of them has been a client of Elegant Atomics. ### Building software, not just advising Elegant Atomics ships working software, not only recommendations. The firm built Spandrel, a compiler that turns markdown file trees into governed knowledge graphs. It built Flux, a LinkedIn analytics product. It publishes free tools on its own site. These are evidence of technical capability. They are early-stage products, and nothing here is a claim about scale or revenue. ## How the work runs The plan is co-created with the client. Execution follows in the order things are actually blocking growth, and that order changes month to month. One month it is positioning and a site rebuild. The next it is an outbound system, a tracking fix, and a batch of comparison pages. Decisions start as a hypothesis with a stated way to tell whether it was right. Results are written back, so the next decision starts from what was learned. The work is done by the people who were in the room when it was planned, and a revision does not require a change order. The firm describes this posture as "always smart, scrappy when necessary." ## Proof **Definite** is an all-in-one data platform and a client since 2023. Elegant Atomics built the inbound demand engine on a governed content system, taking the company from roughly one inbound demo per quarter to a consistent multi-million-dollar pipeline. **UpGuard** is where the firm modeled an entire category before writing a single page: buyer jobs, personas, a keyword ontology, and competitor search results. Other current clients: Panoply, Findigs, Count, CloudDevs, and Levers Labs. Panoply was a consulting client before Trevor Fox joined the company as an employee in 2018. ## Who runs it Trevor Fox founded Elegant Atomics in 2023 and leads strategy and technical builds. He ran growth at Panoply, did market development for reverse ETL at Census, and worked on contract through Instrument on large-brand web strategy. Robert runs client delivery. Segun runs outbound operations. Channel specialists join an engagement when a channel needs a dedicated operator. ## Related products - **Flux** (fluxgraph.app): LinkedIn analytics for people who post to grow a business. - **Sourced** (getsourced.ai): attribution for post-attribution marketing. - **Spandrel**: a compiler that turns markdown file trees into governed knowledge graphs. - **ChatGPT Search Insights** (chatgptsearchinsights.com): a free tool showing the queries, results, and citations behind a ChatGPT answer. ## Working with Elegant Atomics Engagements are retainers. The structure is deliberate: a retainer means the firm carries the outcome rather than billing against a fixed scope, which makes it a stakeholder in the result instead of a vendor invoicing hours. It is also what makes it possible to sequence work by what is actually blocking growth, because no change order sits between a problem and the fix. Advisory and scoped project work is available for engagements that do not fit a retainer. Elegant Atomics sells programs, not guaranteed outcomes. A program is a roadmap, a set of experiments, and a working cadence. A firm that promises a specific traffic number or revenue number is guessing at it. ## Contact Email [services@elegantatomics.com](mailto:services@elegantatomics.com), or book a call at [calendly.com/trevor-fox/30min](https://calendly.com/trevor-fox/30min).
